I am cursed with an insatiable curiosity.
My journey of curiosity has spanned a diverse array of disciplines, weaving together a distinct professional tapestry. My academic career spans Philosophy, Biology, and Science Education. I have had the opportunity to gain experience as a botanist, laboratory technologist, quality director, and operations director, going on to help build and operate numerous natural products laboratories around the United States. Over the past 12 years or more I have specialized in studying the biology and chemistry of Cannabis sativa, L. In that time I have had the chance to learn from leading researchers, clinicians and industry experts from around the world, going on to write a comprehensive Cannabis science textbook, Curious About Cannabis: A Scientific Introduction to a Controversial Plant and publishing peer-reviewed scientific research. This blend of passions spanning science, art, philosophy, and education fueled my desire to create Natural Learning Enterprises, a science and philosophy educational media venture aimed at fostering critical thinking and curiosity about the natural world. It’s a platform where I've had the joy of launching projects like the Curious About Cannabis learning platform, the Isn't Life Curious? podcast, and the children's mycological education initiative Toadstool's Treasures. Lately I have been working as a Laboratory Operations Specialist and R&D Software Developer for the laboratory software company Tagleaf, Inc, collaborating with leading flavor house Abstrax Tech and budtender education platform Seed Talent to produce science courses, and teaching pharmacognosy and cannabis science courses through Beal University. Beyond my scientific and teaching work, I am an avid artist as a writer, painter, musician, and video producer. I am currently creating music under the musician moniker Brother Toadstool and the band Odd by Midnight. Our new single "Haunted" is released October 1st, 2025 on Spotify, Apple Music and wherever you stream music! |
